So, here\u2019s an idea that sounds a little nuts (and maybe you\u2019re used to that with me) but I promise this works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019re worried about something, outsource the worrying part to someone else<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There. It\u2019s off your plate. You can focus on other stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There\u2019s a book called the 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss, and\u2014just being honest\u2014I haven\u2019t finished listening to it. But I did catch the part where he talked about hiring a personal assistant in India, and how he would have her take care of all sorts of things for him<\/strong>. Line up this appointment, book that reservation, buy these plane tickets, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But he was worrying<\/a> about something one day, and as a joke, he outsourced this to her, too. \u201cCould you worry about this for me, I don\u2019t have time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She was a little confused, but she went with it. \u201cOkayyy\u2026 yes, I will worry about that for you today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The odd thing: Ferriss says that even though he wasn\u2019t totally serious about having his assistant worry for him\u2026 it actually helped him<\/strong>, knowing someone else was out there worrying about that very thing he would otherwise be worrying about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n —<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s a funny\/strange little vignette, but it strikes at something for anyone who trusts God, a God who wants us to \u201ccast your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.\u201d (I Peter 5:7<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cast it to Him. Throw it out of your lap and into His. He can handle this one just fine, thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
