Is it too late to wish you a Happy New Year? I say no. HAPPY NEW YEAR!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of 2021, my family and I tried something together for the first time.<\/strong> We went snowmobiling<\/strong>. I’ll admit it…I was anxious<\/strong> about the whole thing. Being injury prone, getting hurt was the very first thing that entered my mind. Will this adventure<\/strong> end in the emergency room? It definitely did not.<\/strong> Will I be cold? No. I had the right gear. Did we have a great time<\/strong> and create lasting family memories<\/strong>? YES<\/strong>! It was a great example of getting out of my comfort zone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2022, one of my aims<\/strong> is to get out of my comfort zone<\/strong> more often for God<\/strong>. I think we all know what God has called each of us to do<\/strong>, but it seems always easier to shy away<\/strong> from whatever we feel comfortable with. What happens if I step out and mess up<\/strong>? That would be so embarrassing<\/strong>, I\u2019d think to myself. I\u2019m sure I\u2019m not the only one who has felt that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why is stepping out of your comfort zone important<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Things have always held me back<\/strong> from stepping out of my comfort zone. I was worried that I’d fail<\/strong>, mess<\/strong> up<\/strong>, and embarrass<\/strong> myself. Stepping out of our comfort zone, however, to do something for Jesus<\/strong>, is a great chance for God<\/strong> to work through and in us. Even though it\u2019s not always easy to step out<\/strong>, from time to time, we need to be spiritually stretched<\/strong>. I know this can feel daunting<\/strong> and nerve<\/strong>–wracking<\/strong>, but God will ALWAYS<\/strong> get us through what he\u2019s called us to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So how can we step out of our comfort zone? <\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Pray<\/strong>. Ask God to help you overcome the challenges you may face. Whatever is holding you back, let it go and give it to God. He will help you through!<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Tell<\/strong> someone<\/strong>. Having an accountability partner really helps. They can challenge you and push you to do things that scare you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Remember<\/strong>, it\u2019s a journey. Stepping out of your comfort zone is gradual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Growing isn\u2019t always the easiest<\/strong> thing. However, we are blessed<\/strong> enough to belong<\/strong> to a God<\/strong> who will never<\/strong> leave<\/strong> us<\/strong> or forsake us<\/strong> when things get tough. He will always be there to guide us<\/strong>. Through stepping out, we get to know God more<\/strong> and grow closer to Him<\/strong>. For me, that makes it so much more worthwhile!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
