As you pause<\/strong> to read this, the full-on, no holding back, hustle and bustle of Christmas is upon us. Family, friends, eating, parties, presents, car rides, plane trips, cooking, baking, more eating, stockings, endless dishes in the sink, candlelight service at church, kids up at 3:30 AM, \u201cDid we get batteries?\u201d, Christmas wrapping everywhere\u2026 all of it. Talk about exhausting<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At STAR 99.1, we hope that in the midst of all of the above, you can find a minute<\/strong> or 2 to find<\/strong> quiet<\/strong>. To pause<\/strong> and to remember<\/strong>. To think back to the night when Jesus came and changed our lives forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All throughout God\u2019s word, stars<\/strong> represent hope<\/strong>. God gave hope to Abraham with the promise<\/strong> that his family would be as numerous as the stars<\/strong> in the sky. In Psalms, David saw the stars as reminders of God’s care<\/strong> for all people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bright star <\/strong>in the night sky when Jesus was born\u2014 that star represented the hope <\/strong>that all humankind longed for. That star represented the arrival of the One<\/strong> who would take on the sin of the world. The trip from the East the Magi made, following the star to where Jesus was, had to be a long<\/strong> and difficult<\/strong> one. They undoubtedly faced unexpected challenges<\/strong> and surprising situations <\/strong>(I mean, what road trip doesn\u2019t have a few twists and turns), which likely caused them to question, \u201cIs this for real? Should we turn back and go home?\u201d. Yet, the star signaled hope<\/strong>\u2026 as if through it, God was saying, \u201cKeep following<\/strong>, and you\u2019ll find me.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps the last two years have caused you to question a lot of what you once thought to be true, not unlike the Magi\u2019s transcontinental journey to worship the young Jesus. In the throes of COVID, a strife-filled political season, and tropical storm Ida (not to mention your own personal challenges), it is only natural to wonder, God, are you still there<\/strong>? Are you seeing what\u2019s going on here?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometime in the middle of the Christmas craze this year, let us pause<\/strong> and find a star<\/strong> \u2013 in the sky or on your Christmas tree. That star is His reminder to you<\/strong>, and to me, that He sees us<\/strong>. He knows the burdens we are bearing in our hearts <\/strong>(which somehow get heavier at Christmas). There is Hope found in Him<\/strong>. Those stars are God saying to us, \u201cKeep following, and you\u2019ll find me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
