Today is a crazy-busy news day, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Am I right? I\u2019m right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thing is, I don\u2019t know when you\u2019re reading this, and you don\u2019t know when I wrote this. And yet I\u2019m right, because every day is a crazy-busy news day. I\u2019m confident that if you turn on any news platform at this very moment, you\u2019ll not find them saying, \u201cNot a whole lot happening today. Maybe check back later\u2026?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every day is full of breaking news. Every day is a battle of ideas about important things. Every day seems to fill itself with busy-ness in our personal lives, too. Every single day will offer us plenty of reasons to be distracted from who we want to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that\u2019s not going to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I\u2019ve realized this: If I\u2019m going to be a praying person, I have to start right now. I can\u2019t wait until the sky parts, my calendar suddenly clears, and a perfectly peaceful scene comes to envelop me. That\u2019s not going to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But what can happen is this: I can actually start talking to God, right now. \u201cDon\u2019t worry about anything,\u201d Paul wrote to the Philippians<\/a>, who were under all kinds of pressure. \u201cInstead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen you will experience God\u2019s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus,\u201d he assured them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You may think, \u201cSure, but I\u2019m not much of a praying person\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Become a praying person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s just a matter of starting. And\u2014whatever day it is!\u2014this is the best day to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
