So I\u2019m going to keep this short, because short is good. Jesus told short stories, and I love that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Short is powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe you know the Lazarus story already? Jesus raises him from the dead in John 11<\/a>. Think about that: Lazarus has no blood flow. His brain is done. His organs are already disorganized. Decay has set in. He stinks. He\u2019s a goner.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jesus, however, can raise him from the dead. Do you realize how remarkable<\/strong> that is?<\/p>\n\n\n\n There\u2019s a weird part of the story, though, that doesn\u2019t get much attention: Jesus tells the people<\/strong> there to move the stone that\u2019s blocking where Lazarus\u2019 body is laying. And they do it, and Lazarus comes walking out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A friend of mine just told me to think about this: What\u2019s harder, bringing a dead body to life, or moving a stone? Couldn\u2019t Jesus have moved the stone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of course, he could. But he told people to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jesus tells us to do what we can do<\/strong>.
