Slow Down ✋

I’m going to ask you to do something that I know is nearly impossible this time of year…but here it goes…can you slow down a bit?

This is the season of hustle and bustle. When we’re not at work, we’re shopping. When we’re not shopping, we’re at our ten-thousandth holiday party! It’s a wild time!

Can we try to slow down together and really focus on the reason for this season? Sometimes it can feel super lonely, especially when you are missing loved ones. The Christmas season is about TRUE LOVE— not the kind you see in the Disney movies.

Christmas is about a love so big, and so true, that it’s really hard to process! This is the time we celebrate Jesus being born! Jesus came to save you and to save me. He gave His life for us! There’s a verse in Romans 5 that says, When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.” (Romans 5:6 NLT)

It goes on to say that most of us would not be willing to give up our lives for even the most righteous of people, let alone the meek, broken wrongdoer. “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8 NLT) And…while we are still sinners!

That is huge love. You are loved with everlasting and unconditional love! My challenge to you is to stop, silence your senses and reflect about how much you are loved.
